Ever want to visit Spain? Now’s a good time.

If Spain’s been on your bucket list for a while (and it well should be), there’s no better time to visit than now: After a year or so of super-high flight prices, you can nab a trip to Barcelona and Madrid for less than $600. The best part? The cheap fares kick in during the perfect time of year to visit.

Airlines that are offering these ultra low fares right now are Delta, JetBlue, Breeze, and United. You’ll be able to find tickets at low prices from New York, Atlanta, New Orleans, Minneapolis, Washington, D.C., and Boston. Make sure to book directly through the airline websites in the next few days—the prices will not be guaranteed to stay low beyond that. Travel dates for this deal are between August and November 2022.

You’ll be able to find sub-$600 round trip flights for the below routes:

Oakland to Barcelona (lowest September-October price at time of publish: $532)

Oakland to Madrid (lowest September  price at time of publish: $540)

San Francisco to Barcelona (lowest September-October price at time of publish: $502)

Both cities are worth visiting on their own —  Madrid offers a ton of culture, including world-class museums and fantastic market halls, and it’s just delightful for strolling around — but also consider using either landing spot in a two-part getaway, or as a jumping-off point to visit other cities.

For instance, if you head to Barcelona, see the sights and then head off to check out any number of other gorgeous spots that are super-easy to get to from the city: Seaside Tarragona; vibrant, arty Valencia, or even hop off to the Balearics. This writer is just back from a week in Soller, a delightful town on the island of Mallorca that’s island living to the max — and about 20 minutes to the sea (Think wooden trams, a railway station with an exhibition by Picasso, gorgeous sun-filled food, and great local wine).

If you’re into the idea of the restorative Spanish lifestyle, check out the flight dates — trust, they make the idea an even better one. The September and October departure dates are in the heart of shoulder season, which means fewer tourists (especially in already over-touristed Barcelona), not-too-hot/not-too-cold weather perfect for explorations, and typically cheaper rates on hotels since the peak period’s passed.

Check out the flights over on Kayak — there are plenty of ways to play with dates to get the best deals possible.
