Mars Exploration Rover Mission: People

These technologies have ranged from the original Viking using aero braking and rocket power, to the Mars Pathfinder mission’s novel air bag solution....

This artist's concept depicts NASA's Mars 2020 rover exploring Mars.

This late-afternoon view from the front Hazard Avoidance Camera on NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity shows a pattern of rock stripes on the ground, a surprise to scientists on the rover team. It was taken in January 2018, as the rover neared Sol 5000 of what was planned as a 90-sol mission.

Okuneva: Does this evidence establish the existence of a previous civilization on Mars?

Basiago: Yes. Mars was inhabited in antiquity and is inhabited today. The civilization on Mars was impacted by the solar system catastrophe of 9,500 BC, in which debris elements from the Vela supernova explosion entered our solar system, devastating Mars and destroying the great maritime civilization on Earth that built the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx.

The evidence on Mars of this ancient civilization consists of very large monuments that can be seen from satellite images and now smaller details photographed by NASA's rovers Spirit and Opportunity, such as the image of an Egyptian pharaoh that MARS has identified on a rock on Mars that was photographed by Spirit, that we are calling "The Rosetta Stone of Mars" because it establishes the connection between Ancient Egypt and Mars.

After this catastrophe, the human beings on Mars took refuge underground, where their post-catastrophe civilization has survived intact, and where, according to a senior CIA officer who contacted me after I published The Discovery of Life on Mars in 2008, one million Martian humanoids of several different types now live.

According to an Associated Press Poll conducted in July 2003, ..

“He [Mr. Basiago] confirms that the United States has been teleporting individuals to Mars for decades and recounts the awe-inspiring and terrifying trips that he took to Mars in 1981 after he was tapped to go there because he had teleported as a child participant in Project Pegasus.”

Mr. Basiago has also publicly confirmed that in 1970, in the company of his late father, Raymond F. Basiago, an engineer for The Ralph M. Parsons Company who worked on classified aerospace projects, he met three Martian astronauts at the Curtiss-Wright Aeronautical Company facility in Wood Ridge, New Jersey while the Martians were there on a liaison mission to Earth and meeting with US defense-technical personnel.

The Future of Space Exploration - NASA

Scientists think that Mars may have had a thicker atmosphere early in its history, and data from NASA spacecraft (the mission) indicate that Mars has lost significant amounts of its atmosphere through time. The primary culprit for Mars’ atmospheric loss is the solar wind!

Astrobiology is a relatively new field of study, where scientists from a variety of disciplines (astronomy, biology, geology, physics, etc.) work together to understand the potential for life to exist beyond Earth. However, the exploration of Mars has been intertwined with NASA’s search for life from the beginning. The twin Viking landers of 1976 were NASA’s first life detection mission, and although the results from the experiments failed to detect life in the Martian regolith, and resulted in a long period with fewer Mars missions, it was not the end of the fascination that the Astrobiology science community had for the red planet.
